Evening Fishing Trips

Our evening fishing trips are the perfect activity to enjoy during your holiday in Weymouth. Spend 4 hours aboard Amarisa watching the sun go down on the Jurassic Coast as you learn to fish. Evening trips are great fun and suitable for families, couples or groups. We welcome complete beginners as well as anglers who’d prefer a shorter time at sea.

We try for a range of species during evening trips, including dog fish, bream, conger eels, rays, gurnards and more. What we catch depends of the tide and weather conditions on the day.

FAQs

What does an evening trip involve?

We will start the trip with a gentle stroll down Weymouth harbour before turning out into Weymouth. We’ll steam until we find the perfect place to drop anchor and spend the evening fishing. You’ll have lovely views of the Jurassic Coastline as the sun begins to set.

We supply rods, reels, tackle and bait. It’s no problem if you’ve never fished before, we’ll help you every step of the way.

What is included in the trip?

Fishing rods, reels, tackle and bait are all included in the price of the ticket.

What happens if the weather is bad?

We still operate in the rain, please bring waterproof clothing. If it is too windy to go to sea, the trip will be cancelled the evening before. We will try to sort an alternative date. If this is not possible a full refund will be given.

What is your cancellation policy?

If we deem the weather unsuitable for an Evening Fishing Trip on Amarisa or the minimum passenger number has not been met, the trip will be cancelled with as much prior notice as possible. You will usually be contacted the evening before when we have access to the latest weather report – typically after 6pm.

You will be contacted on the phone number/email address provided at the time of booking to try and arrange alternate dates. If we are unable to agree upon a mutually suitable date and transfer your booking, you will receive a cancellation email (please keep an eye on your junk mail folder) and full refund of any money paid. This can take up to 10 working days.

If you (the customer) would like to cancel an Evening Fishing Trip a full refund will be given up until 72 hours prior to the trip commencing. To cancel please click the ‘view booking’ button in your confirmation email and follow the instructions. It is also possible to transfer your booking to another date up until 72 hours before your trip. No refund will be given for cancellations that occur less than 72 hours before your trip.

Where do we meet you?

Meet us on the pontoon, next to our boat Amarisa – we are moored beneath the Sailors Return pub, next to Cosens Quay Car Park (Commercial Rd, Weymouth DT4 8AQ).

When walking to the boat, please use the ramp rather than the ladders. Advance booking is essential, please do not just turn up on the day.

How do we book the whole boat?

You can book the whole boat for the exclusive use of your group. To do so, find your chosen date on our booking system and book all 12 spaces. If there are less than 12 spaces available, there are already others booked on the trip.

Are dogs allowed?

Well behaved dogs are welcome with prior permission from the skipper. Please note, this is a fishing trip, so there are hooks, tackle and bait on the boat. It can also be noisy and hot in the summer with little in the way of shade. If you decide to bring a dog it will be your responsibility for the entirety of the trip. We cannot take responsibility for your dog.

What happens if we’re running late for the trip?

Please arrive 15 minutes early for your trip – we run our trips back to back so it’s essential that you’re there on time. We are unable to wait for guests that are running late and we will leave without you. If you are not there on time, a refund will not be given.

Weymouth gets very busy, especially in the summer months. Leave yourself plenty of time for traffic and parking.

Is there a toilet on board?

Is the trip suitable for kids?

Can one of my group come on the trip, but not fish?

Can I bring food or drink?

Can we take home what we catch?
